Sarah Palin's 17-year-old Daughter Pregnant???

It's hard to know what to say about this announcement... Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter is pregnant!

  1. I'm sure that Mr. James's three questions marks did not in any way imply that he is gleeful about the misfortune of others; in particular a 17-year-old girl who made a poor choice.

It is my hope that no one of any religion or political affiliation will use Sarah Palin's daughter as some sort of evidence of lack of morals, poor upbringing, etc. I also hope no one criticizes the choice to give birth rather than have an abortion. I'm sure pro-choice advocates recognize that Choice does not mean choosing abortion 100% of the time.

If I can be so bold as to suggest Mr. James's subtext, it is this: religious fundamentalists must put away their "holier than thou" attitudes and recognize that we're all human. They can also drop their their obnoxiously smug "We're not perfect, just forgiven" attitude. The last is my take, not necessarily Mr. James's.

  2. Just imagine what would've happened if she'd been taught to use birth control instead of pure abstinence: nothing.

  3. Not only is she pregnant, but it sounds like Mom is thrilled (since she is keeping the baby). Best of all, McSame knew about this before selecting her as his VP.

  5. It's just amazing to me that no one really seems to be making a huge connection with the fact that Palin supported only abstinence education... I pointed it out earlier in my blog when I saw it and it was just ironic to see.

Almost poetic justice, at the risk of sounding insensitive.

  6. Go easy on this girl. She is a victim of parental ignorance.
